Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Operations

  • Lead daily operations for your group sales team to meet revenue goals and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

  • Partner with Market Sales leaders and hotel management to implement winning sales strategies that drive occupancy and revenue.

  • Manage sales resources effectively to secure high-value opportunities for each property.

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to fine-tune sales tactics.

  • Handle incoming group sales leads, align offers with client preferences, and maximize upselling opportunities.

  • Ensure accurate, timely communication between the Sales Office and on-property teams.

  • Support smooth handoffs to event management teams, ensuring a flawless booking-to-delivery process.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build strong, long-lasting relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Deliver exceptional service that fosters customer loyalty and repeat business.

  • Address client concerns promptly and professionally to ensure total satisfaction.

  • Coordinate with other Marriott sales channels to maintain a unified and effective sales approach.

  • Leverage Marriott’s marketing programs and loyalty incentives to enhance customer engagement and conversion.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Manage and inspire a team of Group Sales Managers to achieve and exceed sales targets.

  • Set clear performance goals, monitor progress, and provide regular coaching and feedback.

  • Collaborate with HR to attract, train, and retain high-performing sales professionals.

  • Create a positive, inclusive work environment that encourages collaboration, learning, and excellence.

  • Oversee the team’s operational budget, ensuring efficiency and accountability.

  • Identify training needs and mentor team members to improve their sales and negotiation skills.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED with 4+ years of experience in sales, marketing, guest services, or a related field.
    OR

  • A 2-year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related area with 2+ years of experience in sales or marketing.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Marketing, or Business.

  • Previous supervisory experience in a hospitality sales environment.

  • Proven success in group sales, either at the property or regional level.

  • Strong understanding of hotel operations, food & beverage, and event planning.

  • Experience in team-based selling and knowledge of Marriott’s group sales process.
