Post Office Assistant (On-Call)

Note: Preference will be given to candidates residing in the local community. Applicants outside the immediate area may be considered if required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide outstanding service at the counter by selling postal products and services to individuals and businesses.

• Accurately sort, process, and distribute mail into appropriate categories.

• Assist customers with information, forms, and inquiries.

• Address delivery or service issues promptly and professionally to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or provincial equivalency) and/or experience in business administration.

• Previous training or experience in customer service, retail, or sales, including handling cash transactions.

• Familiarity with accounting or post office systems is an asset.

• Ability to lift mail containers weighing up to 50 lbs, push or pull boxes, sort mail, and stand for extended periods.

• Flexible availability for temporary, on-call shifts.
