Salary Range

  • Competitive compensation package

  • Starting base salary: $80,000–$120,000 CAD annually, depending on experience

  • Additional per diems, overtime, and performance bonuses are available.

Key Responsibilities

As a Pilot, your primary responsibility is the safe and efficient operation of flights. However, the role includes much more:

1. Flight Operations

  • Operate aircraft in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and aviation regulations.

  • Ensure the aircraft is airworthy by conducting pre-flight inspections and reviewing flight plans, weather data, and operational conditions.

  • Manage takeoffs, cruising, and landings with precision and professionalism.

2. Safety and Compliance

  • Prioritize passenger and crew safety above all else.

  • Adhere to all Transport Canada and airline-specific regulations and safety protocols.

  • Monitor flight systems continuously and respond to any emergencies or in-flight anomalies.

3. Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with co-pilots, flight attendants, and ground crews to maintain seamless operations.

  • Communicate effectively with Air Traffic Control (ATC) and dispatch teams to ensure real-time coordination.

  • Lead by example, maintaining professionalism and supporting team morale.

4. Customer Experience

  • Represent the airline with integrity and care.

  • Deliver announcements professionally and provide passengers with clear information during flight delays, turbulence, or diversions.

  • Handle unexpected situations calmly and with a customer-first approach.

5. Documentation and Reporting

  • Complete post-flight documentation, including journey logs and maintenance reports.

  • Record and communicate any technical issues or safety concerns.

  • Stay updated on changes in regulations, procedures, and aircraft systems.

Required Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Minimum Licensing and Experience

  • Valid Canadian Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL)

  • Minimum of 1,500 total flight hours

    • Including 500 hours multi-engine experience

    • 250 hours PIC (Pilot-in-Command) preferred

  • Valid Category 1 Medical Certificate

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada

  • Must not be currently employed by Air Canada Express or any of its partner airlines

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following assets will enhance your application:

  • Military or bush pilot background

  • Recent IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) flying experience

  • Previous commercial flying experience in Canada or similar regulatory environment
