Key Responsibilities
HR Administration
In this role, you will support the HR team by handling essential administrative tasks. You will maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, ensuring all documentation is properly organized and stored.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing HR files, employee records, and documentation
- Providing clerical support such as data entry and document preparation
- Assisting HR staff with day-to-day administrative activities
Recruitment Support
You will actively participate in recruitment processes, helping the organization attract and hire top talent.
Your duties will include:
- Scheduling interviews and coordinating recruitment logistics
- Preparing interview materials and assisting with hiring events
- Screening resumes and identifying suitable candidates
- Supporting the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation preparation
Employee Relations
As an HR Assistant, you will help create a positive and supportive work environment by assisting employees with their HR-related queries.
Key tasks:
- Acting as a point of contact for employee inquiries
- Directing staff to appropriate HR resources or personnel
- Supporting employee engagement initiatives and workplace activities
Training and Development
You will contribute to employee growth by supporting training programs and development initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Organizing training sessions and preparing materials
- Maintaining and tracking employee training records
- Assisting in evaluating training effectiveness
- Supporting HR in identifying staff development opportunities
Compliance and Policies
Ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies is a critical part of this role.
Your duties:
- Assisting in maintaining compliance with federal and provincial employment regulations
- Keeping HR policies and procedures up to date

Health and Safety

- Supporting the implementation of health and safety policies

Work Environment
This is a hybrid role, combining remote work with regular virtual meetings using Microsoft Teams. The position may also involve occasional in-person collaboration and site visits.

Note: No prior experience with these tools is required. Training and access will be provided.
Qualifications
To be eligible for this Human Resources Assistant position in Canada, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Previous HR experience is an asset but not required

Eligibility Requirements
This position is funded through a government program, and applicants must meet specific criteria:
- Must be between 18 and 29 years old
- Must be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution (part-time or full-time) with a co-op or internship program
- Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Must be available to work full-time for 16 weeks
Selected candidates will be required to provide:
- Proof of identity (passport, birth certificate, or PR card)
- Proof of enrollment from their educational institution
- Completed tax forms (TD1 & TD1ON)
- Direct deposit banking information
