Are you an experienced Executive and/or Legal Assistant within an ever-challenging and fast-paced work environment? Do you want to support the busiest court ### in Alberta, helping the Court of King’s Bench issue judgments that matter to Albertans? If that is so, then the Court of King’s Bench has some exciting opportunities for both justice and legal support to justices based in Calgary.

  • As a Judicial Assistant, as part of a team environment, you will provide a full range of administrative and legal support to up to five Justices of the Court of King’s Bench, duties include but are not limited to:
  • Handling calendars and appointments
  • Recording and handling budgetary/claim expenditures
  • Proof, format, edit and edit judgments, including legal research and citation checks, to ensure all final product is correct for filing
  • Researching and preparing extremely complex and confidential correspondence and memoranda
  • Assisting with documentation for court appearances
  • Managing sensitive and confidential information
  • Creating and maintaining hard-copy and electronic filing systems, organizing and classifying records
  • Dealing with telephone inquiries and bills
  • Arranging travel that is often complex
  • To organize meetings and conferences, involving gathering and preparing paperwork.
  • Scheduling judicial assignments.
  • Backup for other Judicial Assistants
  • Undertaking additional administrative tasks to support as needed
