This role involves working with greenhouse and outdoor vegetable crops, including hydroponic horticultural products such as greenhouse tomatoes. Education & Experience

• Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required

• Experience: Experience is an asset but not mandatory

Work Site Environment

• Fruit and vegetable combination farming

• Confined spaces and work at heights

• Wet, damp, hot, and dirty conditions

• Exposure to all weather conditions

• Non-smoking environment

Work Setting

• Rural area with staff accommodation provided

• Public transportation is not available (own transportation required)

Key Responsibilities

• Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops

• Harvest vegetables and prepare them for the market

• Fertilize, spray, and water plants

• Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings

• Plant bulbs and seeds as required

• Remove suckers and water sprouts manually

• Prune trees, shrubs, and plants

• Level earth to fine grade specifications

• Clean crops, greenhouses, and work areas

• Cut and manage horticultural crops

• Examine produce for quality and readiness

• Report any signs of insect or disease damage

• Hydroponic horticultural products

• Vegetables (with a focus on greenhouse tomatoes)

Work Conditions & Physical Demands

• Repetitive tasks and physically demanding work

• Handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg / 50 lbs)
