As the market continues to expand, we are now seeking an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer to join our team. This position is great for recent grads who are inexperienced in the field but have strong educational experience in electrical engineering. With a recent graduate joining the team, they will work mentored through the hierarchy of experienced engineers to design, test and implement electrical systems and solutions.
The Apprentice/General Helper will be primarily responsible for assisting the Lead Technician completing all general labor type work as assigned. This individual will be mentored by the Lead Technician on how to install, maintain, and troubleshoot security devices for residential and commercial sites. They will learn to understand and follow installation blueprints and plans from the Installation team.
General Duties/Key Responsibilities:
- Help with general labor work tasks given by Lead Technician/ISM
- Training and alternately Radovan, where you learn to chase drawings and install the installation of all ELV components
- Get a complete understanding of how to run and terminate wires as per manufacturer specs, New Age & industry standards.
- Installing & Setting up security systems equipment (Including not limited to), Alarm, Monitoring, access in accordance with Manufacturer specification, New Age & industry standards
- Terminate, mount and place devices in the best spots according to drawings according to manufacturer specifications.
- How to troubleshoot and fix technical miscues or malfunctions of installed security systems
- Follow safety procedures and practices and comply with safety regulations and company Health & Safety policies
- Perform all tasks on the work order and/or task list as directed by the Lead Technician.
- Master all styles of structured cabling jobs
- Perform and submit required daily vehicle inspections
- Help with maintaining cleanliness and organization in the warehouse area including storage of all equipment/supplies
- Aid in designing, developing & testing electrical systems & equipment
- Assist senior engineers in interpreting technical data and producing project reports.
- Do field inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems.
- Know and follow industry standards, codes, and best practices.
- Work closely with mechanical and software engineers.
- Using CAD software and simulation tools to create electrical schematics.
- Keep researching and keeping up with developments in electrical engineering technologies.
Work and Education and Experience Requirements:
- Have at least a high school diploma; post-secondary education as electronic (technician) or technologist.
- Electronics Engineering Technician Certificate or Similar Technical School Diploma (preferred).
- A minimum of 24 months of apprenticeship experience.
- • Strong communication skills (oral/listening/writing) towards Clients & coworkers.
- Capable of operating power tools with proper training for powered equipment (lifts).
- Capable of removing cameras, wall boxes, and other standard security industry hardware.
- Ability to work at height (on a scaffold, lift, etc. (with appropriate Lift training and fall prevention training, etc.)
- Knowledge of the following systems would be an advantage; DSC, ICT, Axis, HIK, and entry systems, Network components – jacks, patch panels, switches, routers, hubs, etc.)
- Have a valid Ontario Driver’s License (G level) with clean driving record.
