Job Overview – Airport Security Supervisor

As an Airport Security Supervisor, you will oversee daily security operations and ensure safety standards are met at all times. You will lead a team of security guards, coordinate site operations, and act as the point of contact during emergency situations.

This role requires leadership, integrity, and strong communication skills. You will represent the company as a professional ambassador at the airport.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Operations Management

  • Supervise security guards across assigned airport locations

  • Coordinate break relief and shift coverage

  • Ensure all staff are properly uniformed and equipped

  • Maintain control and accountability of issued equipment

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare detailed reports for incidents, complaints, and service issues

  • Review Security Occurrence Reports for accuracy and completeness

  • Submit reports within 24 hours to the Airport Operations Communication Centre

  • Compile Daily Summary Reports for management review

Training & Staff Development

  • Train new security and traffic control staff on-site

  • Test staff knowledge of Post Orders and General Orders

  • Monitor performance and provide coaching

  • Recommend improvements to enhance service delivery

Emergency Response

  • Perform duties according to the Emergency Response Manual

  • Act as the main contact during emergency operations

  • Carry and operate portable radios for communication with the Airport Operations Communication Centre

Requirements for Airport Security Supervisor Jobs in Canada

To qualify for this aviation security role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Education & Experience

  • Minimum High School Diploma (Grade 12)

  • At least 2 years with A.S.P. Incorporated or

  • 4 years of security supervisory experience

Licensing & Certifications

  • Valid Ontario Security License

  • Valid Driver’s License (G or higher) with clean driving record

  • Standard First Aid & CPR certification

  • Ability to provide Criminal Record Check

Mandatory Airport Clearances

  • Ability to obtain AVOP (Airside Vehicle Operating Permit)

  • Ability to obtain RAIC (Restricted Access Identification Card)

Note: For applicants on a work or study permit, RAIC processing through Transport Canada may take 18–24 months.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of Canadian security legislation

  • Knowledge of Criminal Code, PSISA, Trespass to Property Act, Fire Code, AODA, and WHMIS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong leadership and decision-making ability

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
