Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical Assembler / Transformer Technician, your main duties will include the following:

Assembly of Electrical and Metal Parts

  • Assemble and fit metal and prefabricated parts according to instructions

  • Work with close tolerances to ensure accurate assembly

  • Follow blueprints and drawings carefully

  • Use hand tools and machines to complete assembly work

Transformer Core Assembly

  • Compress steel laminations to build transformer cores

  • Ensure laminations are aligned properly

  • Check core size and shape to meet design requirements

Winding and Electrical Connections

  • Assemble coil windings into transformer cores

  • Make safe and correct electrical connections

  • Use proper wiring techniques to avoid faults

  • Ensure all connections meet quality and safety standards

Reading Drawings and Schematics

  • Read and understand engineering drawings

  • Interpret electrical schematics and blueprints

  • Follow step-by-step assembly instructions

  • Ask supervisors for clarification when needed

Assembly of Electrical Equipment

  • Assemble electrical motors and transformer auxiliary equipment

  • Fit electrical parts correctly into equipment housings

  • Secure components using proper fasteners and tools

Switchboard and Panelboard Assembly

  • Install electrical control devices into switchboards

  • Wire electrical connections for panelboards and switchboards

  • Assemble panelboard and switchboard cabinets

  • Install bus bars safely and correctly

Machine Operation and Setup

  • Set up and adjust production machines and tools

  • Operate coil winding machines

  • Use metal fabricating equipment safely

  • Report machine problems to supervisors

Production Monitoring and Troubleshooting

  • Monitor production processes during your shift

  • Identify and fix small production issues

  • Work with team members to reduce errors

  • Keep production running smoothly

Quality Control and Testing

  • Check final products to ensure they meet quality control standards

  • Inspect electrical assemblies for defects

  • Perform basic electrical testing

  • Report quality issues immediately

Equipment and Machinery Experience

  • Brazing equipment

  • Soldering tools

  • Metal fabricating machines

  • Production machinery

  • Coil winding machines

Training will be provided for company-specific equipment.
